Phil Reddon

Managing Partner

As one of Covington’s Managing Partners, Phil brings with him close to 20 years of investment experience and has been with Covington since 2002.

As Managing Partner, Phil’s responsibilities include setting the corporate strategic and growth objectives for Covington Capital, overseeing the operations of Covington Capital as well as its Investment and Operations teams.  Phil takes an active role in a number of Covington’s portfolio investments; assessing new opportunities and offering strategic insight toward meeting the businesses growth objectives.  Phil currently sits on the Board or functions as an observer on the Board of several portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Covington, Phil spent six years at Bank of Montreal Capital Corporation as Managing Director for a $400 million private equity group. Phil was head of the Technology Investment team, and sat on the investment committee, which was involved in the investment and approval process for over 60 companies. In his role at BMO Capital, he sat on the boards of eight companies. Prior to BMO Capital, Phil held various positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada.

Phil holds an Honours in Business Administration.

Phil’s track record includes a number of successful exits including the acquisition of PlateSpin Ltd. by Novell, and the exit of SXC Health Solutions via public market as well as the following: Syndesis, Playdium,  Simex Iwerks, and NexGen Financial.
